Biomaterial Engineering is a comprehensive discipline that focuses on both wood- and non-wood-based materials. Combining theories of polymer science and material science with the characteristics of structure, properties, processing and application of biomass materials, modern technology is used to carry out basic and applied research into the composition, structure, properties, transformation, modification and compounding of biomass materials. Biomaterial Engineering aims to achieve high-value and efficient use of biomass resources and thus serve the demands and facilitate the development of the Forestry Engineering discipline and its associated industries.
